Tokyo , which is also known as Edo, meaning estuary. Tokyo is one of the 47 prefectures of Japan and located on the eastern side of the main island Honshu. Tokyo lies in the humid subtropical climate zone, with hot, humid summers and generally mild winters with cool spells. The city has a population of 12 million people. It is famous for its very successful in media. Tokyo is frequently the setting for many Japanese movies, television shows, animated series, wed comics, and comic books. The city was founded in the 16th century as Yedo, it was renamed when the emperor moved his court here from Kyoto in 1868. The are many sights to see in Tokyo, including the Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Dome City ,Tokyo Disneyland, and Tokyo National Museum.
