Sydney, which is also known as the Harbour City, lies on the south-east of Australia. Sydney has a temperate, oceanic climate with warm summers and cool winters, and rainfall spread throughout the year. The city has a population of 19,357,594 people. It is famous for its very successful property and business services, retail, manufacturing, and health and community services. Jobs have moved from manufacturing to the services and information sectors. It was established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by Arthur Phillip, leader of the First Fleet from Britain.
